Looking for an Oura Ring alternative without a subscription? The best answer in 2026 is not a single model. To see how these alternatives compare with watches and wristbands, the comparison of smart rings and wearables by need broadens your options while keeping subscriptions in focus.
RingConn offers the best balance of battery life, features and cost when it is in stock. Ultrahuman has the richest ecosystem. The Galaxy Ring makes the most sense with a Samsung phone. The Amazfit Helio Ring is the budget option. Circular Ring 2 remains the most experimental.
If you want to buy now, though, you need to check actual availability. On July 26, 2026, the RingConn Gen 3 and Gen 2 were shown as out of stock on their official pages, and the Galaxy Ring was unavailable in the Samsung France store. As of October 13, 2026, the French Ring Pro page now shows “Add to cart,” with no preorder mention; delivery times still need to be confirmed for each size and finish. A great spec sheet is useless if it forces you to pay an inflated marketplace price.
The best Oura Ring alternatives in one table
The prices and availability below were checked in official stores on July 26, 2026, except for Ultrahuman’s prices and ordering status, which were rechecked on October 13, 2026, in the French store. They may vary by promotion, finish, size, currency and delivery country.
| Alternative | Official price checked | Subscription | Claimed battery life | Ideal for | Main limitation |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| RingConn Gen 3, Gen 2 or Gen 2 Air | US$349, €339 or €239 depending on the model | None for core features | Up to 14, 12 or 10 days | Battery life and value for money | Variable stock, limited independent validation |
| Ultrahuman Ring Pro or Ring AIR | €499 or €379 | None for essential data, premium PowerPlugs available | More than 15 days in Chill mode or 4 to 6 days | Ecosystem and coaching | Delivery time to be confirmed, some specialized modules cost extra |
| Samsung Galaxy Ring | €450 | No specific subscription listed | 6 to 7 days depending on size | Samsung Galaxy users | Restrictive phone compatibility |
| Amazfit Helio Ring | €299.90, on sale at €169.90 when checked | Core tracking included, some services may depend on region | Up to 4 days | Tight budgets and the Zepp ecosystem | Only three sizes and short battery life |
| Circular Ring 2 | US$349 | Essential features included, paid premium options | 7 to 8 days in Power mode, 4 to 5 days in Performance mode | On-demand ECG and experimental features | Little independent validation and promises still being rolled out |
For reference, an Oura subscription costs €5.99 per month or €69.99 per year in the European Union, after the included first month. Over three years, the subscription adds around €210 to the price of the ring. An alternative without mandatory fees may therefore cost more upfront but less over time.
How this selection was put together
I did not rank the rings by the number of metrics they display. A manufacturer can turn the same heart rate, movement and temperature signals into dozens of proprietary scores without improving measurement quality.
The criteria used were:
- official price and clearly identifiable recurring costs
- availability in France or verifiable delivery options
- ring battery life and type of charger included
- compatibility with iOS, Android or a required ecosystem
- clarity about included and premium features
- available level of validation and caution in health claims
This ranking does not claim to prove that one ring measures every sleep stage better. The new RingConn Gen 3 and Ultrahuman Ring Pro are too recent to have an independent track record that matches their marketing ambitions.
1. RingConn: the best overall alternative, if it is in stock
RingConn is the most direct answer to Oura’s model. The basic app does not require a subscription, and the manufacturer focuses on long battery life with a portable charger for its high-end models.
RingConn Gen 3 for the best specifications
The Gen 3 claims up to 14 days of battery life, a universal charging case, 10 days of offline storage and vibration alerts. It weighs between 2.5 and 3.5 g depending on size and comes in sizes 6 to 15. Its official price was listed from US$349, with a note that regional prices may differ.
The official page showed it as out of stock when checked. Vascular health trends and breathing patterns should also be treated as wellness features. RingConn states that its ring is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat or prevent disease.
Gen 2 or Gen 2 Air to spend less
The Gen 2 remains a very competitive option at €339 in the European store, with a claimed 10 to 12 days of battery life and a case that can extend charging coverage to 150 days. The Gen 2 Air was down to €239 in the official comparison tool. It retains up to 10 days of battery life, but uses stainless steel, a basic dock without a battery and does not include apnea pattern analysis.
My RingConn pick: Gen 2 if you can find it at the official price. Gen 3 if vibrations, size 15 or the universal charger genuinely change how you use it. Gen 2 Air if price matters more than titanium and the portable case.

2. Ultrahuman: the best alternative for its ecosystem
Ultrahuman connects the ring to its tools for sleep, circadian rhythm, blood tests, environment and glucose. This can be useful if you already own several of the brand’s products. However, the ring itself does not measure glucose. The M1 CGM is a separate device.
The Ring Pro is listed at €499 in France as checked on October 13, 2026. It claims around 12 days in Turbo mode and more than 15 days in Chill mode, up to 250 days of storage on the ring and 45 days of charging capacity with the PRO Charger. It is heavier than the Ring AIR, at 3.3 to 4.8 g depending on size.
The Ring AIR remains the more sensible option for many buyers. It was listed at €379 during the same check, weighs 2.4 to 3.6 g and claims 4 to 6 days of battery life. The French Ring Pro page now offers an add-to-cart option with no preorder mention, but a delivery date could not be confirmed here.
“Subscription-free” needs a qualification here. Ultrahuman does not charge for access to the ring’s essential data, but its PowerPlugs platform includes both free and premium options. You can therefore use the ring without a monthly bill while still encountering optional purchases for certain cardiac, medical or partner modules.

3. Samsung Galaxy Ring: the best with a Galaxy smartphone
The Galaxy Ring costs €450 in the Samsung France store. Its claimed battery life reaches six days for sizes 5 to 11 and seven days for sizes 12 to 15. It weighs 2.3 to 3.3 g, has water resistance up to 10 ATM and includes a charging case.
Its appeal lies in Samsung Health. Sleep, activity and heart rate data feed into the Energy Score and Galaxy AI wellness tips. This choice makes sense if you already wear a Galaxy Watch and use Samsung Health as your main dashboard.
The restriction is clear: the French product page requires a Samsung Galaxy smartphone running Android 11 or later, with the Samsung Health app and a Samsung account. iPhone users should rule this option out. Android users without a Galaxy should check exact compatibility rather than assume it will work.
The previous article credited the ring with apnea detection validated in Europe. That was incorrect. Samsung’s European sleep apnea feature works with a compatible Galaxy Watch and a smartphone, not the Galaxy Ring alone. The ring can track SpO2 and nighttime breathing, but these trends do not provide a diagnosis.
4. Amazfit Helio Ring: the best budget alternative
The Helio Ring was offered at €169.90 instead of €299.90 in the Amazfit France store when checked. At this sale price, it becomes one of the cheapest ways into overnight tracking with a ring.
It combines PPG, temperature, movement and electrodermal activity. The EDA sensor tracks changes in skin conductance, which the app combines with HRV to produce indicators of stress or emotional state. This does not directly measure an emotion or establish the cause of stress.
Its trade-offs are significant. Battery life is claimed to reach up to four days, and enabling emotional tracking may reduce it further. Only sizes 8, 10 and 12 appear in the specifications. The core Zepp app remains accessible, while some coaching or AI services may depend on a trial, subscription or region, according to the official information.
Choose it mainly if you own an Amazfit watch. Combining the watch’s training data with the ring’s recovery data is then its real advantage. Outside the Zepp ecosystem, RingConn Gen 2 Air offers longer battery life at a usually higher price.
5. Circular Ring 2: the innovative option, but the least established
Circular Ring 2 is listed at US$349. It claims five to eight days of battery life depending on mode, a titanium construction, sizes 6 to 14 and an on-demand single-lead ECG triggered by touching the ring with your other hand.
It deserves a place in this selection for its on-demand ECG and modular approach. It does not yet deserve a general recommendation. The brand presents some blood pressure and glucose trend features as premium or still being rolled out. These promises should not drive a purchase until actual availability, regulatory status and independent validation are established.
The business model is not entirely free. Circular includes core vital-sign features, then plans premium features accessible through a standard subscription or credits earned in the app. That is more flexible than a mandatory subscription, but different from software fully included for life.
My Circular verdict: consider it only if an on-demand ECG is your main criterion and you accept the risk of a younger ecosystem. Do not buy this ring for future noninvasive glucose measurement.
No subscription does not mean no future costs
Before choosing, distinguish between three business models:
- a mandatory subscription for the full experience, as with Oura
- essential data included and optional premium modules, as with Ultrahuman or Circular
- core features included with no identified subscription, as with RingConn
Also factor in less visible costs: a replacement charger, accidental damage protection, resizing, a nonreplaceable battery and a compatible smartphone. Samsung confirms, for example, that the battery and components of its Galaxy Ring cannot be replaced separately.
A €239 ring replaced after two years may cost more than a €339 model kept for longer. None of the brands provides enough public long-term data to predict battery degradation accurately for each generation.
Can you trust the sleep data?
A ring estimates sleep from movement, pulse, HRV, temperature and sometimes SpO2. It does not directly measure brain activity as polysomnography does. Bedtime, wake-up time and total duration are generally more useful than the exact number of minutes of deep or REM sleep.
Oura has the strongest publication track record among the brands mentioned. A 2024 study compared an Oura Gen3 with ambulatory polysomnography in 96 generally healthy adults. The results were encouraging for several overall measures, with persistent discrepancies in some variables. The study received financial support from Oura and does not validate the alternatives in this article.
The World Sleep Society’s 2025 recommendations encourage distinguishing fundamental sleep measures from exploratory proprietary scores. They also stress that the choice should depend on intended use and the feature’s level of validation.
Use a ring to answer a measurable personal question:
- is my bedtime becoming more consistent?
- does my nighttime heart rate change after alcohol or a late dinner?
- does my actual sleepiness follow the displayed trend over several weeks?
A consumer ring does not diagnose apnea, arrhythmia or infection. Persistent daytime sleepiness, reported breathing pauses, palpitations or unexplained fatigue warrant professional advice even if the app remains reassuring.
How to choose without getting it wrong
Before ordering, follow this sequence:
- define the metric you actually want to track
- check compatibility with your phone and apps
- wear the sizing ring for a day and a night, because fingers swell
- confirm the final price, return costs and premium features in your region
- do not pay above the official price just to get around a temporary stock shortage
- test trends for two to four weeks before changing your habits
Remove the ring for weight training, climbing or handling metal loads. Contact can scratch the product, compress your finger and impair optical readings. For heart rate during exercise, a chest strap is more suitable.

Verdict: which Oura alternative should you choose in 2026?
Choose RingConn if battery life and total price drive your decision. The Gen 2 offers the best balance when available, the Gen 2 Air is the best budget pick and the Gen 3 has the most complete spec sheet.
Choose Ultrahuman if you want more coaching and a metabolic ecosystem. The Ring AIR is the mature, lightweight choice. The Ring Pro prioritizes battery life and storage, with less of a track record and a delivery time still to be confirmed.
Choose the Galaxy Ring only if you already use a Samsung Galaxy smartphone. Choose the Helio Ring if its sale price and Zepp make up for the short battery life. Choose Circular Ring 2 if you accept a more experimental option for its on-demand ECG.
The best financial choice is not always to replace Oura. If you already own a working Oura and have paid for several months of subscription, keep it until a real limitation arises. For a first purchase, however, RingConn and Ultrahuman now make a mandatory subscription hard to justify.
